Fredric N. Harris' Obituary
Dr. Fredric (Fred) Neil Harris, age 93, of Boca Raton, FL, passed away on September 26, 2025 after a brave battle with cancer.
Fred, son of the late Edward and Mollie Harris, was born December 25,1931 in Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 68 years, Sheila Harris, his son, Scott Harris, his daughter, Ellen Harris, their respective spouses, Douglas Peterson and Christine DeBiase. Also survived by his grandchildren, Sophie DeBiase-Harris and Marco DeBiase-Harris, and his brother David “Bob” Harris as well as his nieces and nephews.
He attended dental school at New York University where he met Sheila, the love of his life. After they married, Fred served as a Captain in the US Army as a dentist stationed at Ft Leonard Wood, MO. After serving in the Army, Fred and Sheila moved to Monsey, NY where they raised their two children.
Fred started his own dental practice in a home office setting allowing for a good work-life balance. He also spent many years enjoying his weekend home in East Hampton, NY before eventually settling full time in Florida where they found their dream home overlooking the golf course in Woodfield, Boca Raton, FL.
An avid tennis player for most of his life, Fred took up golf in his retirement and was on the course regularly. He also enjoyed playing bridge and that mental stimulation was a source of pleasure and frustration, as mastering any task was always his goal. Fred enjoyed being active until the end of his long beautiful life.
A funeral service will be held at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel (DELRAY CHAPEL)
at 1pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
Burial will follow at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 11520 State Road 7 Boynton Beach, FL 33473.
