Ratner, George Murray's Obituary
George Murray Ratner was born on 5/24/1932 and died on 5/1/2026 surrounded by his loving family.
George was the son of Ruth and Jack Ratner of Yonkers, NY. He was an Army Veteran having been in active service in Korea. Soon after his service he married Frances Hardy Ratner and the two were inseparable during their 68 years of marriage. They raised their three children in Tappan, NY : Deborah (Tim) Silar, Edward (Anna) Ratner and Andrew (Tricia) Ratner and had a close circle of friends that lasted throughout his lifetime. In addition to his children, he was loved by his grandchildren- Alex Kligman, Claudia Ratner, Sam Ratner and Joseph (Bianca) Ratner, his great grandchildren, Harper and Logan Ratner, his sister Judy Fay and his brother-in-law Joe (Kathy) Hardy.
George was a master upholsterer who ran his own successful business in Riverdale, NY for over 50 years. Fran & George moved from Tappan to Monroe, NJ (Concordia), and most recently Boynton Beach, Fl (Cascade Lakes). In all of the communities he lived, George was loved and adored by all his friends and neighbors A great athlete, he enjoyed tennis, golf, volleyball and was an impressive bowler in his younger years. He loved to garden, enjoyed home improvement projects and with Fran he played bridge with friends, travelled the world and was an active supporter of the Pap Corps. He loved seeing his family succeed and was devoted to Fran who struggled with health issues in recent years and passed just days before.
