Gloria M Waldman's Obituary
Gloria Waldman was born on July 18, 1932 in the Bronx, NY, the oldest daughter of Irving and Irene Galitzer. On September 23, 1951 she married the love of her life, Harry Waldman, who passed away in January 2013, and together they had their only daughter, Helene Dawn English in 1952.
Gloria was full of life – she was always engaging with newfound friends, and taking off on grand adventures. She and Harry toured Europe for over a year, and she would frequently embark on the latest cruise ship.
Gloria was a lover of the arts. She was a serious collector of fine art. She founded Artcetera, a cornerstone fine art gallery in Delray Beach. She was an artist in her own right, creating fabulous sculptures and glassworks.
Gloria was fully engaged in a variety of community events and activities. She was involved in the Valencia Isles Choral Group, as well as the Valencia Isle Players. She created Oscar night events. She initiated a singles club, and created an Art Club that included field trips to local museums and movie watching. (She was a huge fan of foreign film). An active participant of the Socrates Café discussion group Gloria enjoyed the stimulating conversations she would find there.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Helene and husband Chris, her grandson Jesse and wife Sarah, her grandson Grayson and wife Jessica, her great-granddaughter Georgia, her sister Myrna and husband Larry, and her nephew David.
