Harold Ludman, M.D.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, a son of the late Samuel and Rebecca (Weinstein) Ludman. He was the loving husband of the late Joan (Hurwitz) Ludman for 62 years. He died peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Merrill Gardens in Seattle, Washington at age 90. Was laid to rest at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach, Florida. He graduated from Classical High School and in 1949 from Brown University. He obtained his M.D. degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine in 1954. Following a rotating internship at Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn New York, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Brooklyn V.A. Hospital in 1958. Engaged in the solo practice of internal medicine on Long Island, New York, appointed to the clinical faculty of the SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine, until his retirement, though his medical advice was sought after until the day of his passing. Devoted father of Mark (Batya), Neil (Terrence King), and Evette (Dennis Birch), beloved grandfather of Benjamin (Danielle), Aaron (Einat), and Shayna (Barak Avital), and great-grandfather of Mia; brother of Norma Cohen and brother-in law of Elaine Greenstone and Carol Sirefman. Also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and a vast number of adored and adoring friends and former patients. Predeceased by his older brother Nathan. Lived in Westbury, NY for almost 50 years, Boynton Beach, and Seattle. Served in the US Army Information and Education Corps. Loved travel, visiting art museums all over the world with his beloved Joan, was a voracious reader, loved books, music, theater, and playing and watching sports. His family expresses deep gratitude to all those who cared for him, including Kaiser Permanente of Seattle and Memorial Sloan Kettering, where contributions in his memory may be made.
