Harold Sarshik's Obituary
Harold Sarshik, 93, of Boca Raton, formerly of Cherry Hill and Moorestown, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2015 after a long illness. Born January 14, 1922 in Philadelphia, Harold graduated from Temple University in 1943. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, landing on Normandy three days after D-Day and receiving a Purple Heart for his combat service in Europe during World War II. Harold was a leading residential and commercial real estate developer in Southern New Jersey for 50 years. Throughout his career, Harold held senior positions with professional associations, including being President of the New Jersey Home Builders Association and Vice President of the National Association of Home Builders. He also was active in civic organizations, including serving as President of the Jewish Federation of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Harold also served as Chairman of the New Jersey Housing Finance Agency for six years. After retiring to Florida, Harold participated actively in local activities such as exercise, leading health-related discussion groups, and Company A, a men’s club. He enjoyed mentoring others, traveling and reading books on every topic. Harold is survived by his loving wife Joyce; daughters Randi (Chris) Rose, Barbara (Andy Pike) Sarshik, and Carol Sarshik and their mother, Fran Daniels; six grandchildren (Alex, Adrienne, Lizzy, Leah, Jenna and Allison) and one great grandchild; step-children Donald (Karen) Blum, Michael (Deborah) Blum, and Amy (Paul) Quigley; and six other grandchildren (Emily, Andrew, Zachary, Lindsay, Jake and Josh).
