Harold Silverman's Obituary
Harold Silverman, 88, of Venetian Isles in Boynton Beach, FL passed away Monday September 9, 2019. A trumpet player, singer, and target shooter, Harold was a graduate of Stuyvesant High School in NYC and graduated with honors from the NYU School of Business. He had a 60 year career as a CPA.
Harold was a life member of the Knights of Pythias, a member of the Jewish War Veterans for more than 45 years, a member of the Royal Palm Beach Community Concert Band, a volunteer and the original music therapist at Bethesda East Hospital for more than 10 years. He was also a volunteer at Alzheimer Community Care, entertaining at 6 different day care centers each month. Harold taught Holocaust Studies at Central Hebrew High School in Oceanside, NY and was the shofar blower at the Oceanside Jewish Center during the High Holy Days. He was a founding member of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum as well as a member of the Venetian Isles Yiddish Club and Brooklyn Club.
Harold was the beloved husband of Elly, the devoted father of Cindy Kane, Richard (Mary) Silverman, and Michael (Mimi) Silverman; the loving grandfather of Valerie, Jonathan, Jamie, Matthew, Melanie, Adam, and Jeremy; and dear brother of Sheldon (Arlene) Silverman and the late Milton Silverman.
Chapel services will be held at 12:15 PM Friday September 13, 2019 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Rd., Boynton Beach, FL 33437 followed by interment with military honors in South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth.
