Harriet Weiskopf Cohen's Obituary
Harriet Weiskopf Cohen was born in New York City on August 20, 1930 and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Samuel J. Tilden High school and worked in Manhattan at the Varsity Pajama Company in the Empire State Building. She married Herbert Benjamin Cohen on July 1, 1951. Harriet and Herbert moved to Plainview, NY where Harriet obtained her Bachelors and Master's degrees in Bilingual Education from Hofstra University, in Hempsted, NY. She then began a career as an elementary school teacher in the New York City school system. Harriet and Herbert subsequently moved to the upper east side of Manhattan where they stayed until retiring to Boynton Beach, FL. While living in the Valencia Lakes community Harriet made many friends and led an active and rewarding retirement until her death on December 27, 2022.
Harriet is survived by her son Matthew Terry Cohen, her daughter Mindy Cohen Western, her daughter in law Karen Jayne Cohen, grandson Arik.
