Harriet Katz's Obituary
Harriet Katz, 91, of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of West Hartford, CT, passed away on October 5, 2021. She was the daughter of Frank and Rose Schwartz. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Marvin Katz of 66 years. She is survived by her four children Stuart (wife Heidi), Karen (significant other Dr. Howard Segal, and maintained a relationship with Dr. Steven Pear), Robert (wife Andrea), and Harold. She is the cherished grandmother of Jennifer (husband Daniel), Michael, Stephanie (husband Brian), Michael, Andrew (AJ), Arielle, Jason, David, Brian, and great grandmother of Jayden, Ashton and Julianna, aunt to David Baram (wife Paula). She was predeceased by her siblings Herbert Schwartz, Murray Schwartz and Arlene Baram.
Harriet graduated from UConn as a nurse and worked at Mount Sinai Hospital and the Hebrew Home. She was a long time member of the Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford. Harriet and her husband Marvin were known for their hospitality and enjoyed having family and friends stay with them at their home in Florida. She loved to travel, and hosting family events.
The family is grateful to Harriet’s two wonderful caregivers Karen Mogbo and Patricia Rampersad who made her life more comfortable.
Memorial donations may be made to Hadassah Florida Atlantic Region, Emanuel Synagogue, or a charity of choice.
