Harvey was born February 9, 1946 in Pittsfield, MA, the son of Isidore and Hilda (Friedman) Cohen. He graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1963 and attended Bryant College. He married the love of his life, Laurie on December 1, 1968 and they lived a truly perfect life together.
Harvey’s career spanned the photography, consumer electronics, and consumer healthcare product space, both on the retail and purchasing side and in sales. His long career took him to virtually every state and even to Asia. A true people person, he connected and made friends easily with everyone whose path he crossed. Harvey’s work ethic was extraordinary – he continued to work part time until this year. Harvey’s career took the family from Massachusetts to Iowa to New York and back to Massachusetts. Harvey was always supportive of Laurie’s career and followed her to Maine and Connecticut too. Finally, they settled in Florida, in their comfortable community of Valencia Palms where they quickly built a large community of friends.
Harvey’s interests ranged from photography to landscaping, orchid growing and home improvement projects to travel. He was a big tennis enthusiast, both playing in the community tennis league at Valencia Palms and organizing tournaments, banquets, and outings to watch the pros play; he even went to the US Open. Harvey and Laurie’s travels took them to Europe, the Caribbean, Africa, and Latin America. They crossed the Atlantic by cruise ship twice and took two Panama Canal cruises as well.
Harvey will be missed by all.
