Henry "Hank" Wiss' Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henry “Hank” Wiss on August 2, 2024, at the age of 83. Hank was born on June 21, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY to David and Reba Wisotsky.
Hank met the love of his life and beloved wife Felicia of 60 years and raised their family in Massapequa Park, NY. For the past 28 years, they have called Boynton Beach, FL home and have enjoyed their golden years. Hank loved his Bulls and Bears Club, often sharing stock tips with his family, and traveling back in time with the Brooklyn Club. Tennis was his racquet which he took up in his retirement.
Hank was most known for his love of family, and would make a point to tell them that he loved and appreciated them as often as possible. He was kind and giving. He cared so deeply for his family and it was evident in all he did.
Hank received a degree in Chemistry Education from Brooklyn College, the first in his family to receive a college degree. He began his career as a Chemistry teacher at his alma mata Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn, NY. Hank retired as the Science Chairperson of the Wantagh School District where he was known for his commitment and dedication to the school community. After retiring, Hank was an adjunct professor at Florida Atlantic University where he mentored student teachers. Hank was quick with a joke and a belly laugh. He loved his 3pm coffee with something sweet.
Hank was predeceased by his parents, David and Reba, in-laws, Fred and Shirley, his sister Sheila, brother-in-law’s, Jack and Jerome and his nephew, Keith. He is survived by his wife, Felicia, children, Scott (Christine) and Michele (Marc), grandchildren, Zachary, Jeremy, Jacob and Daniel, his sister, Beatrice, brother-in-law, Jerrold, several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering. In Hank’s final thoughts he shared his love with his family. He will be missed dearly.
Services will be held Tuesday August 6, 2024, beginning at 12:15PM at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33437.
