Herbert Magness' Obituary
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of a dearly beloved father, grandfather, Vi resident since 2011, Herbert Magness.
Herbert was born on February 22, 1929 in Philadelphia Pa.
While living in Philadelphia under the mentorship of his father he became a plumber. They ran a successful plumbing supply business; Janess plumbing supply.
During the Korean conflict he served in the air force. He was stationed at Fairchild Air force base in Washington State. He also served in the Air Force reserve and national guard.
Herb married his beloved wife of 69 years Marlene Zilberberg, on December 26th 1954.
Their family grew to include three children and four grandchildren. They relocated to South Florida in 1969.
In Florida Herb pursued a career in large ticket retail sales. Herb and Marlene shared many interests including golf, movie clubs and bridge. They enjoyed travel and traveled extensively around the globe.
Herb and Marlene were always active members of a synagogue. They were involved with multiple programs
at temple Torah in Boynton Beach. Their heritage and connection to the Jewish community played an important part of their lives. Together they shared a rich life of family and friends.
Herbert will be remembered for his family values, wisdom, kindness and infectious sense of humor
Herbert is survived by his son, Alan (Maria) Magness, and daughters, Jodi Magness (Jim Haberman), and Lisa Magness; grandchildren, Ariel Magness, Cameron Magness, Stone Magness, and Landon Magness; and brother, Milton Magness. Herbert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marlene Magness.
A funeral service will be held at 10:15am on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel (BOYNTON) location at, 11115 Jog Road Boynton Beach, FL 33437, followed by burial at 11:30am at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens Cemetery, at 11520 State Road 7 Boynton Beach, FL 33473.
