Hilda Gottlieb's Obituary
Hilda Gottlieb was born an identical twin on September 15, 1939 and passed away on April 14 2026 after fighting a courageous and tedious battle with scleroderma and complex complications related.
Hilda was a loving and devoted wife to Paul, who predeceased her and had a deep, unique loving bond with her twin sister Muriel. Hilda was an amazing and loving mom to Elaine and Michael, and son-in-law Howard and daughter-in-law Cindy. She was a phenomenal and loving Nana to her amazing and caring kind, compassionate grandchildren, Julie, Samantha and Erica.
Prior to mom and dad taking early retirement in Florida, mom worked
for the New York State government as a secretary for several different agencies.
Hilda loved to cook and bake. Some of her favorites were preparing for the Jewish holidays and Thanksgiving. She was well-known for many of her dishes, but especially her famous Jell-O molds that we had it every holiday meal and many multiple occasions. She loved to bake cookies, chicken soup, seven layer matzo cake, and so many others.
Hilda and Paul’s greatest joy was Julie, Samantha, and Erica. Hilda was able to participate and be present in many of their milestone occasions. Hilda was an amazing sister to her twin Muriel and they had a unique bond. She adored her nieces, Lori and Michelle. Hilda was predeceased by her brother, George.
Hilda had a passion for games, her favorite being mahjong. She was the queen and she won 99% of the time.
She loved to play many card games, reading, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
See enjoyed traveling and for her 80th birthday, she went on a cruise and she went parasailing with Julie.
Most of all she loved and adored her family. She had many friends and will be forever missed
A funeral service will be held at 9;30am on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel (Delray Location) 5808 West Atlantic Avenue Delray Beach, FL 33484.
Interment will follow at 10:45am at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens.
