Howard Richman's Obituary
Howard Richman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at home on June 1 at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joan (nee Schwartz); their children Scott, Barry and wife Jan, Robin and husband Mark Schaffer, and Michael; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Howie was pre-deceased by his parents, Jack and Fannie, and his siblings Estelle, Roslyn, and Sanford.
Howie was born in Newark, New Jersey, on April 22, 1934. He met Joan at a dance at the tender age of 15 and they were inseparable from that time onward. After their marriage in 1953 and a stint in the Army, Howie took a job with the Prudential Insurance Company, where he would remain for 40 years, rising from an agent to the position of Director of Field Training in the company’s home office. Howie was both a master salesman and a legendary trainer who mentored hundreds of people throughout his career.
His extended family and many friends will remember Howie’s tenderness, compassion, and, especially, his quick wit and hilarious stories. His favorite things included his family, Cadillacs, singing, and anything with sugar.
A private service will occur on Monday, June 6. The family will be sitting Shiva at the Edgewater at Boca Pointe community in Boca Raton on Monday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m
