Dearest Family & Caring Others,
As the sister of 2 older brothers, my happiest childhood memory is of the times spent with them, when we "practiced" the glorious themes from 2 of my favorite symphonies. Till this day, I still get teary-eyed listening to D'vorjak's, "New World Symphony" (Going Home), & Tchaikovsky's, "5th". Somewhere in my photo album collection I have a picture of me at the piano, encircled by 2 handsome, teen-age boys, playing the violin. I often wondered if the neighbors appreciated the music of the trio coming from apt. 2H, on Eastburn Ave. as much as my parents did (Somewhere in my messy piles of music I still have the yellowed violin & piano parts). Those of us who were privileged to play an instrument, & perform in group ensembles or orchestras know the joy of performing together.
I'm grateful to my parents, OBM, for their good judgement in encouraging us to take music lessons during the formative years. Their memories are blessings, & I pray that the memories of Hy & Mickey will be as well, for the entire Spitz family. Rest in peace, dearest Hy, Mickey, Mom & Dad - I love you forever!
