Howard Thau's Obituary
Howard Thau, born on December 11, 1962, in Brooklyn, NY, passed away on March 10, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Cori Thau and his children, Harli and Tyler Demmerle, Morgan Thau, Lauren Thau, his father and mother in-law, Alan and Shirley Vituli, and his beautiful rescue dog, Audrey.
Howard was a tenacious and ambitious salesman. He built a successful business, Sonic Packaging, which continues to be a leading contract packaging company. His management and adaptive leadership skills were unparalleled. He quickly understood the importance of having a strong team foundation and would remain loyal to his Sonic employees, customers, and network of strategic partnerships over the last 29 years.
He took pride in his business, but his true commitment was to his loving family and friends. Howard touched the lives of everyone he met. From his warm smile, positive outlook, and selfless personality, those around him felt a sense of comfort in his presence. He built a life he loved. This included numerous hobbies like mountain biking, sailing, snowboarding, cars, pickleball and gardening. Howard strongly believed in the importance of giving back. For many years, he was very involved in Make-A-Wish and dog rescues, including Sammy’s Hope.
Howard’s presence will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. His sense of humor, intelligence and zest for life left an imbedded impression on those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. Though he may no longer be with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
A funeral chapel service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33437. Burial to follow at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 11520 State Road #7 Boynton Beach, FL 33473.
Shiva will follow the burial service at the Vituli residence, 7622 Playa Rienta Way, Delray Beach, FL 33446 from 2:00pm – 8:00pm
Shiva will continue at the Vituli residence on Friday, 3/15 and Sunday, 3/17 from 12:00pm-6:00pm.
