Ina Belle Longo's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Ina Belle “I.B.” Longo April 14, 1933 – July 26, 2025.
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Ina Belle Longo — lovingly known as “I.B.” — who died peacefully at the age of 92 on July 26, 2025, in Delray Beach, Florida. She was surrounded by her beloved family at Sonata Assisted Living, a testament to the care and devotion she gave so generously throughout her life.
Born on April 14, 1933, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, I.B. was a woman of fierce independence, sharp intelligence, and unwavering strength. She lived a life defined by love for her family, dedication to her work, and an unshakable sense of self.
I.B. earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University, where she starred on the women’s basketball team. Her professional path was as dynamic as she was; she was an educator, a grammar school and physical education teacher, a small business owner, and later the manager at the Westbury Music Fair, where she brought order, warmth, and excellence to every performance behind the scenes.
She had a passion for swimming laps, basking in the sun, and going out to lunch, especially when it meant being with those she loved. Her wit was quick, her opinions strong, and her love constant. She had a way of making others feel cared for, even with a simple phrase like the one her grandchildren will always hold close: “kisses all over your face.”
She is survived by her loving daughters, Nancy Longo and Lisa Reichman, and her cherished grandchildren, Evan and Olivia Johansen. Her presence in their lives was a gift, and her impact will be felt for generations.
A proud animal lover and avid supporter of the ASPCA, I.B.’s compassion extended to all living things. The family kindly requests donations in her memory to the ASPCA.
