Irma Presser's Obituary
Irma Presser died Friday, June 3, 2022 at Vitas Hospice Center. She had been living at Sonata in Boynton Beach. She was 90 years old. Born in Brooklyn, she resided in Queens, NY until 1986, then settling at Whisper Walk in Boca Raton 36 years ago with her husband Leo. Irma was very close with her two siblings Bob Gneshin and Joyce Goldfarb, and their families. Irma had a successful career at JCPenny Corp. as an Inventory Control Manager for the Boys Department. She worked there until retirement in 1986. Once in Florida, Irma was very active in her community at Whisper Walk, where she was the treasurer of the Tennis Club. Irma enjoyed playing tennis and canasta, cooking and knitting. Together, Irma and Leo loved to travel, to dance at a good party and spending time with family and friends. Irma could be found every morning with a cup of coffee doing the many Sun Sentinel puzzles. She is survived by her loving husband, Leo, her daughter Sheryl and her husband George Rubin and her granddaughters Jennifer and Stefanie Rubin. She is also survived by her step-daughter Debbie and her husband Steve Goldwasser, and their children Craig and Brian and their families. A graveside service will be held at Eternal Lights under the direction of Beth Israel Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made in Irma’s name to: Hadassah or The Alzheimer’s Association.
