Irwin Wiesenthal's Obituary
Irwin Wiesenthal, of New York City, NY and Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on January 2, 2015 at the age of 91. He is survived by his daughter Abbe Wiesenthal; his sister Lucille Axelrod; his sister-in-law, Helen Marcus; his son-in-law, Brian Cady, and many loving friends who remember him with great fondness. After serving his country in the Army in World War II, he returned to the States and began a career in the textile industry. He married Rita Barr in 1954 and had one daughter. Rita passed away in 1973 to our great sadness. His dear friends, Harry and Katie Sugarman, introduced him to the amazing woman who became his second wife in 1978, Natalie Saunders who was his loving life partner until she passed in 2009. Many thanks go to Margaret Remy, who gave him much comfort and caring in his final years. Irwin will be remembered by everyone for his quick wit, his dazzling smile, his sharp mind , and the love and care showed to everyone who knew him. He will be missed every day. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Cancer Society or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Irwin’s name. A memorial service will be held at Beth Israel Boynton Chapel on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 3:00 P.M.
