Jacob "Jack" Gerber's Obituary
Jacob (Jack) Gerber, age 84, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away on February 16, 2021. Jack was born in Bronx, New York to Rae Schneider and Charles Gerber. He was a proud graduate of James Monroe High School, Bronx, New York, in 1954 where he played on the Senior basketball team. He went on to serve in United States Army, Infantry Division, Battery C, of the Fifteenth Field Artillery Battalion stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia and then overseas in Korea. Following his military service, he earned a business degree at City College of New York and worked in the advertising field, most recently employed by 3M until he retired. Jack was an avid baseball card, coin and stamp collector and loved sharing his collection with his family. He was passionate about all sports, especially baseball and football and was a zealous fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants. Most of all, Jack was an extremely devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who always put family first. He is survived by his wife Michele of fifty-five years, his two daughters Robyn (Anthony) Katz and Shari (Landon) Agoado, and four grandchildren, Andrew, Rebecca, Hudson, and Jagger, whom he was extremely proud of and loved spending time with. Jack’s ability to see the good in all people and the positive in every situation leaves the world with his everlasting legacy of tolerance and kindness.
Funeral services will be held at the VA Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida, 6501 FL 7 (Lane 5), Lake Worth, FL 33449 on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 10am.
