James John Lanahan's Obituary
James John Lanahan, age 41, born on May 14, 1975, grew up in East Hanover & Montville, NJ, passed away July 27, 2016. A resident of Boynton Beach, FL. Survived by his loving wife, Christina (Smedley), his two precious daughters Scarlett Rose (3) and Brianna Grace (1), mother Maria (DeOliviera) Lanahan and brother to Barbara Jean Lanahan, Rich Lanahan (Susan), and Tara Lynn D’Uva (Bruno). Uncle to 6 nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his father James R Lanahan. Jim lived every day for his family. He loved Christina with all his heart and was a devoted father to Scarlett & Brianna. He was fast witted, passionate about life, adventurous, had a great sense of humor and had an infectious laugh. Jim graduated the University of Scranton & he spent the last 17 years of his career working as a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial and doing what he loves. He worked every day to be the trusted advisor for his clients and took extreme joy in adding value to their financial lives. His number one priority was doing the right thing and he took pride in the relationships he forged with the many families he worked with.
The family will receive friends & family at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel on Jog Road & Woolbright in Boynton Beach on Friday from 3-8pm and services will be 10:30am Saturday at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Delray Beach, followed by a burial at Palm Beach Memorial Park Cemetery in Lantana. The family also invites you all back for a repast to Jim & Christina’s home after the burial.
For those who have them, please bring a picture of Jim so that Christina can build a wall of memories to help the girls understand what made their dad great.
