Janet Hershkoff Rubin's Obituary
Janet Hershkoff Rubin, 95, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, in Delray Beach, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 29, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, to Esther and Baruch Hershkoff, Janet lived a vibrant life filled with passion and purpose. A former resident of Framingham, Massachusetts, she later became a proud member of the Boynton Beach community in Florida. Janet earned her Master’s Degree in Geriatric Social Work from Framingham State College, showcasing her dedication to helping others.
Her interests were as diverse as her accomplishments; Janet had a deep love for the theatre, museums, travel, gardening, and shopping, which enriched her life and the lives of those around her.
Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard S. Rubin, who passed away in 2001, sister Frances and brother Martin. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Herman; sister-in-law, Nancy D. Shaw; and her cherished children: Kenneth S. Rubin (Jeanette), Steven D. Rubin (Patti Bloom), and Julie A. Travis (Craig). Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Lauren E. Sisk (Geoffroy), Brian N. Rubin (Sigal), Eric M. Rubin, Elizabeth K. Rubin, as well as her four great-grandchildren, Luc, Jude, Kaleb, and Ariela, along with numerous friends and relatives.
In lieu of flowers, Janet requested that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous spirit. A private service will be held in March to honor her life and legacy.
