Jeanette (Knopf) Boas' Obituary
Jeanette (Knopf) Boas, 90, of Deerfield Beach, FL and formerly Rego Park, NY; passed away on May 14, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Max Boas. She is survived by and was the cherished mother of Mark Boas, Jacqueline Fishman and Robert Fishman. She is also survived by her grandchildren Hebra and Patrick Rush and Joshua and Erin Fishman, as well as her great grandchild, Sadie Rush.
Jeanette left Vienna, Austria to escape the Holocaust in 1938 with her parents, Oswald and Frieda Knopf. She came to New York City where she attended high school and some college and met her husband, Max. They were married for 58 years.
She had a loving nature and a naughty sense of humor. Jeanette enjoyed music and would often break out in song. She adored her family and had a knack for making those around her laugh. Her absence is and will continue to be deeply felt.
She will be interred at an intimate ceremony in the New Montefiore Cemetery at West Babylon, Long Island next to her husband, Max. Those wishing to honor Jeanette with a memorial contribution are asked to kindly consider the United States Holocaust Museum or the Alzheimer’s Association or Vitas Hospice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 5808 W. Atlantic Ave. Delray Beach, FL 33484.
