Jerome “Jerry” Clifford Herman passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born on November 22, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army. He often reminisced about his time stationed in Germany, reflecting on the experiences that shaped his life.
A hardworking and entrepreneurial man, Jerry owned and operated several supermarkets throughout his career. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he built with his employees and customers over the years.
After many years in Pennsylvania, he and his wife retired to Delray Beach, Florida, to be closer to family.
A man of many passions, Jerry loved the beach, the sun, and the open road. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his motorcycle club, sharing stories and laughter with friends who became like family. He also cherished his trips to the shooting range with his son-in-law and the companionship of his loyal dog, Benjie.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Herman, his loving daughter, Michele Herman-Hendricks, his devoted son-in-law, Daryl Hendricks, and his faithful dog, Benjie.
He will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, and friend who valued family, loyalty, and good company. His sense of humor, love for the sun, and straightforward nature will be remembered by everyone who knew him.
Jerry was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
