Jerry was my brother-in-law. We met when he began dating my sister, I was in my teens. Jerry was a lot of fun. He introduced me to all sorts of things - musicians, Szechuan Chinese cooking (yow! Super hot!), certain mind altering herbs, interesting places in the city, philosophical concepts, and authors (like James Joyce). When I was around 15 years old I contracted measles and I was very sick and delirious. I have a vivid memory of Jerry coming into my room, sitting by my sick bed and reading to me at length from James Joyce’s Ulyssses. Somehow it was very soothing and I took great comfort from it. I am glad to have known Jerry. I am glad that he was responsible for bringing two wonderful people into the world. May his memory be for a blessing.
