Jerry Lieberman's Obituary
Jerry Stanley Lieberman, age 77, of Boynton Beach, passed away on July 1st with his immediate family by his side. Beloved husband of Lana Lieberman; loving father of Eve and Tom Garvey, Adam and Sally Lieberman; adored grandfather of Gabrielle and Shane Garvey, Anna and Emma Lieberman; dear brother of the late Ernest and late Marsha Lieberman and late Myra and Larry Hoffman; cherished uncle to Geoffrey and Lynne Lieberman, Cary and Lisa Lieberman, Danny and Lisa Lieberman, Howard and Cheryl Hoffman, Shari and Jack Baron, David and Jennifer Hoffman, Ben and Jess Greenberg, Ari and Emma Greenberg.
Jerry was born on September 22nd, 1943, in Newark, NJ to William and Gussie Lieberman, the youngest of three siblings. After graduation from Weequahic High School, Jerry entered the Bamberger’s Management training program. In 1964, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. During his Army service, on December 24th 1964, he married Lana Ruth Greenberg, whom he adored and shared more than 56 wonderful years.
Jerry was extremely proud of his service to our country in the U.S. Army and he carried that pride and love of country with him throughout his lifetime. After being honorably discharged Jerry returned to New Jersey and continued his career in the clothing industry. Jerry, his wife Lana, their two children, Eve and Adam, later relocated to New England, ultimately settling
in Framingham, MA after taking a position with Merchants Tire Company. At the pinnacle of his career with Merchants, he was promoted to Vice President of Advertising. In 1981, Jerry received the Top Achievement Award from B.F. Goodrich Tire Company.
After retiring and moving to South Florida, Jerry and Lana began another journey of becoming grandparents as they welcomed all four of their beloved grandchildren into the world. Their move to Florida started the great migration of the Lieberman family. Soon, many members of their family, including their daughter and her family, joined them in South Florida.
Jerry was known to always quote his father saying, “I may not have a lot of money, but because of the love of family, I am the richest man in the world”. He will be remembered for his generosity, terrific sense of humor, selflessness, Manny Man abilities, his love for family and friends and his amazing fruit salad.
Jerry’s funeral will be held at 11:00am on July 9th at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel in Boynton Beach. It will be live streamed and recorded as well for those unable to attend in
person. His burial will follow at the National VA cemetery on State Rd. 7 in Lake Worth.
