Jodie Rothman's Obituary
Jodie Rothman, 65, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022. Born and raised in New York, Jodie dedicated her life to teaching and advocating for children. She worked in the New Jersey public school system until her retirement in 2015, when she relocated to South Florida to be closer to her family and spend her time advocating for foster children. While Jodie’s early retirement allowed her to focus on fighting her cancer diagnosis, she never let it stop her from living life to the fullest. Her effervescence and zest for experiencing all that life had to offer energized every room she was in. The only "job" Jodie loved more than being a teacher was being a mother, and being a mom was Jodie's greatest accomplishment. Her passion for educating children followed Jodie into retirement when her grandchildren were born. She dedicated her time as a grandmother, “Gaga,” to their early childhood development, and took every opportunity to embrace her new role, including passing on her deep-rooted love for all things Disney. Jodie wasn’t just there for her grandkids, she was the kind of person who dropped everything to help whoever was in need. She will be remembered as the life of the party, a true friend, and a wonderful Gaga.
Jodie leaves her loving family: mother, Helen Rothman; daughter, Samantha (Robert) Galbo; cherished grandchildren, Brooks and Winnie Galbo; and brother, Fred (Jodi) Rothman. Her dear father, Norman Rothman pre-deceased her. A private service will take place for the family.
