Joel Grossman's Obituary
Joel Grossman, 88 of Lake Worth Florida passed away January 21, 2023, surrounded in love by his family. Joel was born in Brooklyn (East New York), NY, and is predeceased by his soulmate, Frane Grossman (Adem). They met in Arlington, VA, where Joel was stationed, love at first sight, they married four months later. After Joel’s discharge from the US Army, they relocated to New York City and eventually made their home in Palm Beach County. Their love story of 64 years leaves a legacy that includes children Caren Sutcliffe (John), Heidi Sapp (John), and Matthew Grossman; cherished Grandfather of Garrett Sutcliffe (Kayla), Hailee Scheirer (Waylon), Samuel Grossman, Janie Grossman (Patrick), Jesse Sutcliffe (Faith), Olivia Grossman, Harry Sapp, Riley Grossman, Shawn Sapp, Chris Sapp (Jessica), Brandon Sapp (deceased), Kim Ayers (Ron), Jenny Miller (Steele), and Sherry Rodriguez; proud Great grandfather, aka OG ( original grandfather) of Jude Sutcliffe, Sophie Scheirer, Nico Sapp, Gio Sapp and an additional (8) great-grandchildren; (6) great-great-grandchildren and countless loved nieces and nephews. With a tribe of family and friends that draws from every decade of his long life, Joel will be remembered as the very best of souls, a true mensch. Joel was an avid fisherman, bowler, poker player, and Civil War Round Table member. He never lost his sense of curiosity, his desire to learn and his ability to make people feel welcome and heard. He was our patriarch, an inspiration, role model, teacher, mentor, supporter, warrior, and true friend. Let us honor him and continue his legacy of kindness, dignity, friendship, acceptance and love. Funeral services will be held at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel Boynton Beach on Thursday, January 26th at 12:00 PM, located at 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33437 (561-327-4965). In lieu of flowers, donations to your heartfelt charity in Joel’s honor would be most appreciated. Burial will be held at the South Florida National Cemetery on Friday, January 27th at 10:30 AM.
