So sorry to hear of John's passing. I fondly remember the lovely dinner you shared with me and Lois during my vacation with your Mom.Shirley Koulopoulos
I remember John as always being kind to my special needs students and also taking no nonsense from the ones that chose to act up. He could stop them in their tracks with one look. Bette and Julie, I am so sorry for your loss.
Bette and Julie, I am so sorry for your loss. John was a tough guy but with a big heart. He loved the students at the Frost School. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.Sue Sicard Fink
I first met John in 1989 when I did my student teaching at the Frost School. He hired me for my first teaching job after I graduated college and I worked for him for four years. John was a kind , compassionate man who wore his love for all of his students proudly on his sleeve. All those years ago, John was my principal, and also my mentor. I will be forever grateful for all of the opportunities and knowledge he gave to me. I have been a teacher now for over 25 years, and I owe so much of who I am to Mr. John Benjamin. Rest in peace. So sorry to hear the news of Mr. B's passing. He was an assistant principal at Salem Street school on Salem Street when I was there. He was a great guy! My condolences.
It was always nice to see John and have a few chuckles with him. I am so sad about his passing. John, RIP!
John was my mother's principal at the Saunder School in Lawrence and then later mine when I started student teaching at the Frost. He helped me get my first teaching job in Lawrence. I still have the lovely letter of recommendation that he wrote for me. He was such a great person. I always loved chatting with him and he could always make me laugh. I'm thankful that he played such an important role in my career. When I was little he used to let my mother take me to school on "snow days" when I didn't have school and she did. That is when I first developed a love for teaching. I loved watching my mother teach and as I got older, she let me take a reading group or two to help her out. Then later down the road when I was in college, he developed a relationship with Merrimack College which allowed my friend Joan and I to do our student teaching at the Frost. We still laugh thinking about those days. John was so proud of us that he had two professional 8×10 photos of us hanging in the office explaining the schools' connection. I have now been teaching for 27 years and helped start it all. I will always remember him fondly.Kathy Dugas Terceiro
John and Bette were the first people I met when I moved to Deauville 3 years ago. They lived upstairs and I knew they were watching over me.John was always quick with a smile, a greeting and tidbit of newsThey helped me break into my house a cool December night when I had accidently locked my broken lock and John was there to supervise when Bette and I replaced the lock.I will miss his smile and his genuine friendship. I am very honored to have know this gentle man. I know he will be watching over us.Rest easy, John and keep those angels in line!Until we meet again, Love, Pam
