Joyce Carol Rosengarten's Obituary
Joyce Rosengarten of Noblesville, IN, passed away on July 11, 2026.
She was born Feb. 17, 1942 in Rochester, NY to Elsie (née Cherkas) and Maurice Landau. In 1944, the family welcomed her brother, Thomas, and in 1954 they welcomed her sister, Laurie. In 1957, the family relocated to Glens Falls, NY where she graduated from Glens Falls High School. On Aug. 26, 1962, she married the love of her life, MichaelRosengarten, in Rego Park, NY. On March 7, 1964, the couple welcomed their son, Joseph and on Sept. 15, 1967 they welcome their son, Daniel.
The family remained in New York City until relocating to Richardson, TX in 1971.
After raising two sons to adulthood, Joyce achieved a bachelor's degree in social work in the 1980s from The University of Texas at Dallas. In 1988, the family relocated to Boca Raton, FL. While in Florida, they also lived in Delray Beach, Deerfield Beach, and
Pompano Beach, all in the Boca Raton area.
During her career in Texas and Florida, Joyce was passionate about Jewish and Israeli causes, including work for the Jewish Community Center, fundraising for the Weizmann Institute of Science and working in social services for the elderly. Upon Michael's passing in 2020, her sons planned for hereventual relocation to
Noblesville, IN.
Joyce was preceded in death by Michael, her husband of 58 years; her brother Thomas of Agoura Hills, CA; her mother and stepfather, Elsie and Solomon Steinberg of Austin, TX; and Rose Rosengarten of Pompano Beach, FL.
She is survived by her son, Joseph and his wife, Katherine of Noblesville, IN; her son Daniel of Noblesville, IN; her sister, Laurie Friedman of Somers, NY; her brother, Richard Steinberg of Kyle, TX; and her sister-in-law, Gloria Severeign of Pompano Beach, FL.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 16, 2026,
at Mount Nebo/ Kendall Memorial Gardens. 5900 SW 77th Avenue Miami, FL 33143.
