Judith Weiner's Obituary
Judith Glasgall Weiner of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away early Friday morning, Nov. 24, 2023, at the age of 97. Daughter of Maurice and Miriam (Cohen) Glasgall of Paterson, N.J., Judy attended the University of Miami, where she met the love of her life, Second Lt. Ernest Samuel Weiner, who was stationed in Florida at the time. They were married for 74 years, raised three daughters in Glen Rock, N.J., and travelled the world together.
Judy was an active volunteer in community organizations, and a formidable tennis opponent, as well as an avid bridge player, and a master at solving the New York Times crossword puzzle. She was a consummate hostess known for her baking and culinary skill, including her trademark pies. An invitation to her dinner parties was coveted indeed. She was the linchpin of a lifelong and ever-expanding circle of friends who could be counted on to care about the welfare of each one.
Judy and Ernie relocated to Boynton Beach, FL In 1994. She defied age, remaining sprightly, independent, glamorous, and up to date on fashion and style. She carried her disarming wit to the end of her life. She will be remembered for her warmth and love of life that touched everyone she encountered. She was fiercely devoted to family, a beloved Grandma Judy and “Gigi.” She always saw the fun in life and consistently spoke well of people. Her smile lit up every room she entered.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy Nathans (Gary), Peggy Smith (Douglas), and Lisa Krasnow (Gary, z’l); grandchildren Aaron Nathans (Debra), Jenny Nathans (Jonathan Abrams), Caroline Smith (Nicholas Smith); Ian Krasnow; and Julia Krasnow (Nathan Peavey); and great grandchildren Lillian Nathans and Charles Nathans, and Isabelle Smith and Victoria Smith. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Berkley (Robert).
In lieu of flowers, contributions are welcomed to the American Cancer Society, and the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County.
