Judith Wise's Obituary
Judith Wise - Judy to all who knew her - was the daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend everyone else wishes they had.
She brought love and kindness and goodness and thoughtfulness to everyone she knew, and to every stranger whose path she crossed.
She was a consummate hostess, a great cook, a skilled card player, an avid reader, an accomplished knitter and a caring neighbor and friend.
She and Frank, her loving husband of 60 years, made friends in every neighborhood they moved to and on every trip and cruise they took.
Judy was born in New York City on January 6, 1934. She and her parents, Joseph and Mildred Rothenberg, moved to Connecticut when she was a child, where her baby brother Peter was born. They moved a year later to Boston, where she attended school and met Frank, the love of her life.
They married on January 24, 1954 - three weeks after Judy’s birthday because, as she often explained, “I didn’t want to be a teenage bride!”
Judy and Frank settled in Sharon , Mass., where they raised their three children: Steven, Joseph (Nancy) and Caren (Joel Weber). She was active in her temple Sisterhood and in the community.
Judy was the proud and loving grandmother to Jared (Chana), Logan and Jaclyn (Ivan Soruco) Weber; and to Casey, Justin (Alexis), Mark and Stephanie Wise.
She thrilled at becoming a 5-times great-grandmother, to Ephraim and Naomi Weber; and to Armani, Adrian and Penelope Wise.
And she was always the best “big” 4’10” sister to Peter (Marcy) Rothenberg; favorite aunt to Valerie (Brian Albert); and beloved sister-in-law to Norman (Gail) Wise.
Judy is loved deeply and will be missed forever.
