Kenneth I. Weissman's Obituary
Kenneth I. Weissman, 94, passed away Sunday February 3, 2019. Formerly of Bethpage, New York, where he resided for 30 years and had the nicest lawn on the block, he moved to Florida in 1985. Ken and his beloved wife Lois, deceased in January 2018, were married for 69 years and lived in Willow Bend in Lake Worth before moving to Embark Lake Worth five years ago.
Ken was born in Brooklyn, NY to Irving and Sayde Weissman (nee Elkin). Graduating Brooklyn College with a major in chemistry, he went on to enter the military. Afterwards, he spent his career as a hardware salesman. Ken had an active interest in science and an insatiable curiosity. He was very family oriented and treasured both his children and grandchildren.
Ken was the devoted Father of Betsy (David Moakley), Debra (Sheldon Goldberg), and James Weissman; and the dear grandfather of Jason Moakley (who pre-deceased him), Eric (Mariel) Moakley, Matthew Goldberg, Rachel Goldberg, Jonah Weissman, and Tim Weissman. Private chapel services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday February 6, 2019 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Rd., Boynton Beach, FL 33437 followed by entombment in Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach. Those wishing to honor Ken with a memorial contribution are asked to kindly consider the charity of their choice.
