LARRY DONALD SPIELBERGER's Obituary
LARRY DONALD SPIELBERGER of Atlanta, Georgia passed away on October 11, 2018 at the age of 83. Born February 12, 1935 in Atlanta to Jessie and David Spielberger, Larry graduated from Druid Hills High School where he was a star basketball player. He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business and an MBA from Emory University. Larry was a highly accomplished real estate investor. As an owner of thoroughbreds, he had a passion for horse racing.
Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew him and remembered for his devotion to family, his love of life, and his sense of humor.
The family would like to thank Dr. Alan Koletsky of Lynn Cancer Institute for his compassion and dedication and his devoted caregivers, Evy Boyle, Julina Anthony and Karen Cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Spielberger Mautner. Survivors include his loving wife, Marcia A. Spielberger; his son Lee Spielberger, and daughters, Lori (Robert) Silverman, Lynne Spielberger, Kelly (Tom) Weaver, and Julie (Steve Laughlin) Korotkin, daughter-in-law, Jill Spielberger, and son-in-law, David Maslia and by his grandchildren, Carly Rose, Julia, and Marc Silverman, David, Sarah, and Adam Spielberger, Daniel Maslia, Daniel Weaver, Syrus and Liam Laughlin.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 17 at 1:30 pm at Ahavath Achim Synagogue, 600 Peachtree Battle Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30327.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ahavath Achim Synagogue, Temple Sinai, William Breman Jewish Home, Lynn Cancer Institute or the charity of your choice.
