Dr. Lawrence Alvan Feldman's Obituary
Dr. Lawrence Alvan Feldman, age 80 of Boynton Beach, FL passed away on November 17, 2018. Larry was born October 11, 1928 to Grace Spicehandler Feldman and Sidney Feldman in Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by his beloved, adored wife, Dr. Rachel Sheppard Feldman, his daughter Heidi (Jitendra Subramanyam) Feldman, his stepson Scott (Dorothy) Sheppard and his stepgrandsons Kevin Sheppard and Eric Sheppard. Also surviving are his sister Fran (Sam) Gordon, his nieces Amy (Yann) Gordon Risz, Dana (Jordan) Gordon Rosenberg, nephew Edward (Erica Livingston) Ian Gordon, brother-in-law David Evans Dailey, nephew Marc (Jocelyn) Howard, grandnieces Kaelyn, Melanie, Tabitha, Sadie, Kaia, and Victoria, and grandnephews Thibaud, Andre, Alexander, Cameron and Aaron. Funeral services were held on Tuesday November 20, 2018 at 1:45 PM at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33437. Rabbi David Spey of Temple Bat Yam, East Fort Lauderdale, FL officiated. Burial followed at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, 11520 State Road 7, Boynton Beach, FL 33473. Larry excelled in his academic career as a medical school professor, mentor and administrator as well as a biomedical research scientist. He had a passion for the game of baseball, was an avid history buff, but loved folk and classical music, and cherished the company of his family and good friends. The family suggests donations be made in Larry’s memory be made to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, www.bsomusic.org.
