Leo Presser's Obituary
Leo Presser died Friday, December 2, 2022 at his home in Whisper Walk, the community he and his wife, Irma, called home for over 35 years. He was 96 years old. Born in Vienna, Austria, he and his family escaped during WWII and immigrated to the United States where he resided in Brooklyn, NY. Later in the war, he also served for the US Navy. Leo was very close with his two siblings Clare and Eric. Leo worked for the Electrical Union, Local 3, until retirement in 1986. Once in Florida, Leo was very active in his community and was one of the founding members of the Whisper Walk Tennis Club. Leo enjoyed playing tennis and golf, riding his bike, and poker nights at the club house. Together, Leo and Irma loved to travel, to dance at a good party and spending time with family and friends. Leo loved TCM movies, classical music, and could be found daily at 4pm with a gin and tonic in hand. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 43 years, Irma. He is survived by his daughter Debbie and her husband Steve Goldwasser, his grandson Craig and his wife Brett and his great-grandson Noah, his grandson Brian and his wife Jaime and his great-granddaughter Mia, and his step-daughter Sheryl and her husband George Rubin and his granddaughters Jennifer and Stefanie. A graveside service will be held at Eternal Lights under the direction of Beth Israel Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made in Irma’s name to: Hadassah or The Alzheimer’s Association.
