Dr. Sher was my dentist when I was a kid. He was always interesting to talk to. He would develop my dental x-rays and then bring them around the wall and show them to me. These ‘wet reads’ were clipped to a small tray, and he would hold them up to the viewbox. When I go the dentist now, the x-rays are displayed on a large screen. I always wonder what Dr. Sher must have thought when he saw this new technology. The dental hygienist doesn’t even know what I mean by ‘wet read’.
I looked up Dr. Sher with the intent of writing a letter and a thank you note to a friend. Regretfully, I am instead typing a tribute on a wall. I had wanted to thank him for the wonderful care he provided. Dr. Sher came in to his office emergently on two weekend occasions for my dental injuries, both of which had excellent outcomes.
I am very sorry for your loss. I hope the Sher family is doing well!
