Linda Rose Bard's Obituary
December 29, 2023 -- Linda Rose (Golbitz) Bard, 78, of Hollis, New Hampshire and Boynton Beach, Florida passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).
Linda was born and raised in Williamsport, PA, and was a proud graduate of Penn State University where she double majored in Math and French. She moved to the Boston area in the late 1960s with her then-husband Gene and raised her family in Sudbury, MA. Linda was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and closely followed the Nittany Lions sports teams throughout her life. Linda could often be found doing DIY projects around her home and enjoyed skiing, golfing, gardening, traveling, and the arts.
After focusing on raising her children, she returned to the workforce and excelled as a real estate agent. A talented artist, Linda’s paintings were featured in many exhibitions. She co-founded the Hollis Arts Society in 2007, a non-profit organization to support artists in southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. She was very involved as a Board Member and many fellow artists became her close friends. Linda’s easygoing and friendly personality, great sense of humor, and generous spirit resulted in many close friends from all decades of her life.
Linda spent most summers on her beloved Martha’s Vineyard Island and spent winters in her later years in Boynton Beach, Florida, where she enjoyed a loving relationship with her partner Gregory Brett who helped to care for her as her disease progressed.
Linda is survived by her devoted children and their spouses: Aimee (Bard) Cohen (Jeff) and Benjamin Bard (Shawn); as well as five loving grandchildren: Sadie, Harry, Zachary, Sydney, and Phoebe; her partner Gregory Brett; brother Dr. William Golbitz (Connie), dear cousins, nieces, and nephews, and many close friends who she loved like family.
Her life will be celebrated at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy organization (CurePSP.org) are welcomed.
