Lynne Jill Miller's Obituary
Lynne Jill Miller, 75, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
Born to Hilda and Ely Wallenstein on October 26, 1947, Lynne grew up in Bayside, New York. She embarked upon a career in education following her graduation from Queens College, spending more than 25 years as an educator with the Farmingdale (N.Y.) School District.
Lynne met the love of her life at Terrace on the Park in Queens. Family lore claims that Danny Miller asked for Lynne's hand in marriage within just twelve hours of meeting the beautiful brunette.
The two married in 1970, and eventually settled on Long Island to raise their two sons, Brian and David. As her boys grew older, Lynne decided to pursue her interest in teaching English-language learners, completing her Master's degree in Linguistics at Long Island University.
After her retirement, Lynne and her husband relocated to Florida in order to be closer to their beloved grandson, Zachary Miller. Her son David soon followed, and her heart was full because her family was reunited.
Lynne walked through this world with an easy smile and a mischievous glint in her eyes. She brought joy, fun and laughter to every gathering.
She enjoyed tennis, reading and card games of all types, but loved that these pursuits afforded her the opportunity to meet and interact with other people...she had never met a stranger.
She is predeceased by her parents, Hilda and Ely Wallenstein, and her brother, Bruce Randall.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Dr. Daniel Miller; her sons, Dr. Brian Miller (Jennifer) and David Miller, her grandson, Zachary Miller; her cousin Mayda Rosenberg; her best friend since childhood, Lenore Delman; lifelong friends, Diana Axelrod, Sharon Bloomfield, Marilyn Kahn, Gloria May, and Marsha Zolot; her many close friends; untold numbers of friends and acquaintances; and the hundreds of students whose lives she impacted.
Services to celebrate Lynne's memory will be held at 10:30 AM on Sunday, October 15th at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33437.
The family will accept shiva calls on Sunday, October 15, 2023 (3-7 pm) and Monday, October 16, 2023 (5-8 pm) at Lynne and Danny's home, 9971 Torino Drive, Lake Worth, FL 33467 in Bellaggio.
