Marc Steven Gruverman's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marc Gruverman, a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, and mentor, on February 5, 2025, at the age of 56. A highly respected executive chef, Marc was not only a master of his craft but also a source of joy, laughter, and unwavering support to those fortunate enough to know him.
Born in Miami, Florida, Marc discovered his passion for cooking after college (Mercer University), and what began as an interest quickly became his life’s work. His creativity, leadership, and pursuit of excellence earned him a reputation as a culinary visionary. Yet, for Marc, food was never just about the dish—it was about the people at the table. He had a remarkable ability to turn meals into experiences and strangers into family, always with a warm smile, and a clever joke.
Marc’s humor was as much a signature as his culinary talent. His quick wit and infectious laugh could light up a room, making even the most stressful moments feel a little easier. Whether he was cracking jokes in the kitchen, sharing stories over a meal, or offering words of encouragement, Marc had a way of making everyone feel valued and at home. He was generous not only with his talent but with his time, always ready to mentor, uplift, and support those around him.
Above all else, Marc was devoted to his family and friends. He cherished the time spent with loved ones, and his happiest moments were those shared with his wife, Jodi, his close-knit family, and his vast circle of friends. To him, success was measured not in accolades but in the relationships, he built and the joy he spread.
Marc is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Jodi Gruverman; his mother, Carol Gruverman (Sheldon); his sister, Michele Birenbaum (Tommy); his brother, Howard Gruverman, Shawn Gruverman; his nephew, David Birenbaum; his nieces, Rachel Birenbaum, Olivia Gruverman, and Grace Gruverman; and countless friends, colleagues, and mentees who will forever hold his memory close.
A service for Marc is scheduled at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 10:15 AM (11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, Florida 33437), followed by interment at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens (11520 State Road 7, Boynton Beach, Florida 33473). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UM Sylvester Cancer and the Dolphins Challenge Cancer, honoring Marc’s lifelong dedication to helping others.
