Marcia Vogel's Obituary
Marcia Ellen Vogel, a beacon of warmth and love, passed away peacefully at her home in Westlake, Florida, on February 24, 2025 at the age of 81. Born on April 9, 1943 in Jamaica, Queens, New York, Marcia left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, Frank “Vic” Vogel; her loving daughter and son-in-law, Tony and Amy Shay; her cherished son and son-in-law, Brien Somers and Michael Della Ragione; and her beloved daughter and daughter-in-law, Jodi Somerstein and Maria Miliante. Her granddaughters, Ashleigh and Alexandra Shay brought immense joy to her life.
Marcia was the sunshine that brightened every day, radiating love and warmth to her family and friends. Her love for her family was unwavering, she cherished every moment spent with them.
After moving to Florida, she found a new sense of home and happiness.
Marcia's life was a testament to her determination and resilience. She pursued her passion for nursing, earning an associate degree in 1981 and a bachelor's degree in 2000, proving that it's never too late to make a change or make a difference. Her infectious smile and heartfelt "I love you" at the end of every conversation or visit will be deeply missed.
Holidays and birthdays were always special occasions for Marcia, filled with laughter and celebration with her loved ones. Despite her courageous battle with Alzheimer's Marcia remained surrounded by the love and adoration of her family, always knowing she was cherished and valued.
Marcia will be profoundly missed by many, but her memory will forever be etched in our hearts. Her legacy of love, kindness, and perseverance will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel (Delray) location at 9:30am, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Entombment will follow at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Shiva will be held at the residence of Jodi Somerstein and Maria Miliante on Thursday, February 27, 2025, starting at 6pm.
