Marilyn Adani's Obituary
Marilyn Adani was raised in Brooklyn, New York, where she completed her education at PS 268 Elementary School and PS 232 Junior High School. Subsequently, she relocated to North Woodmere, Long Island, and enrolled at Lawrence High School. The very petite and agile Marilyn Comiter participated as a Twirler for Lawrence High School. Following her high school education, she pursued her studies at Queens College, earning a Bachelor's Degree and later a Master's Degree in Education from the same institution.
Marilyn realized her aspiration of becoming a teacher when she secured a position within the New York City School System. Over the course of 35 years, she dedicated her efforts to various elementary schools in Far Rockaway and Queens. Marilyn undertook her responsibilities as an educator with a profound sense of commitment, investing her heart and soul into instructing students enrolled in the gifted program.
Marilyn had a flair for the dramatic, so she decided to marry the love of her life and husband of 32 years, Mordechai Adani, on August 16, 1992, which just so happened to be the date Hurricane Andrew slammed into Florida.
Following her retirement, Marilyn and Mordechai relocated to Hallandale, Florida, where they enjoyed the remainder of her life together. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Mordechai Adani, her brother Richie Comiter and his wife Marilyn, as well as her sister Barbara Gerstenhaber and her husband Cliff. She leaves behind three nephews: Andrew (Pam), Matthew, and Joshua Comiter; two nieces: Ilissa Nelsen (Christian) and Mindy Friedman ( Barry); four great-nephews: Mason and Preston Comiter, Jared Friedman, and Cyler Minkus; and five great-nieces: Ashton and Sidney Comiter, Joy and Peyton Nelsen, and Jordyn Minkus.
