Marilyn Elman's Obituary
Marilyn Elman passed away on July 5, 2026 at the age of 76. She was born on January 29, 1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She studied at Temple University for her undergraduate and master's studies. She met the love of her life, Arthur, in New York City, where they married and had their twin sons, Scott and Jordan. They moved to Livingston, New Jersey to raise their family. Marilyn was a devoted educator, teaching preschool and then Spanish across Livingston Public Schools, where she taught for over 20 years. After retiring, she volunteered as a Reading Buddy to local elementary school kids. In 2021, she assumed her most beloved role as Gigi to her adoring grandchildren. She loved spending as much time as she could in the sun, the pool, and the beach. Her dreams of being surrounded by year-round sunshine and family came true when she moved to Florida in 2022.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur. She is survived by her sons, Scott (Joanna) and Jordan (Erica), and her stepchildren, Mara (Baron) and Mark (Lona). She is also survived by her cherished and “gorgeous” grandchildren, Jesse, Rosalie, Jacob, Alexandra, Talia, Lili, and Ava, and by her sister, Sandy, and brother, Steve.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Beth Israel Memorial Chapel Boynton Beach on Wednesday, July 8 at 10am, followed by a shiva at 12pm at the Elman home at 7182 Haviland Circle, Boynton Beach, FL 33437.
