Marilyn Marlene Meltzer's Obituary
Marilyn Marlene Meltzer (Nee Nebelkoff) passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, at the age of 90 years old.
Beloved wife and best friend of the late Irwin (Irv) Meltzer for 62 wonderful years. Loving mother of Wayne, David and Stacy. Proceeded in death by her parents, Rose and Israel Nebelkoff (Noble) and her brother, Eugene.
Marilyn was born on February 10, 1934, in the Bronx, NY. As a young child, her family moved to Philadelphia, PA., where she graduated from Olney High School and the Philadelphia School of Business.
In 1953 Marilyn and her mother were on vacation at the Seagull Hotel in Miami Beach. A young, handsome restaurant manager, Irv Meltzer, approached the two while eating lunch and less than a year later Marilyn and Irv were happily married.
Together Marilyn and Irv owned and operated many different restaurants, including the Pampered Pup in Miami, Pumpkins in Cocoa Beach, the Roaring Twenties in Cocoa Beach, Stacy’s Family Restaurant in Davie, and the famous Flamingo Diner in Plantation. When not working, Marilyn and Irv loved to take their family on cruises and spend time in Jensen Beach.
Marilyn loved being outdoors, sitting on the beach, swimming, boating and growing orchids.
Funeral services were held on February 8th at the South Florida National Cemetery. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
