in honor of MARK.

Mark was so sweet and good to me. I first met him at the Moody Blues concert in October 1993 in Tampa when he was with his date and his cousin sitting behind me. We instantly became friends and I got permission from Mom to go with him & his group back to Fort Lauderdale that night to attend the Moody Blues last concert of the year, and we were buddies ever since. I’d visit him occasionally later with my guitar and play my songs for him while he’d tell me how he liked being John Lodge’s golf buddy. Mark was so kind and quite a gentleman and always spoke peace to me. I’ve never forgot him and I’m very sad to hear that he passed. God bless his family.

I am devastated to hear this sad news.

I first met Mark, more than 20 years ago when my step mum used to be his mothers nurse. Since then we have remained firm friends and he has dropped in on my dad, little sister and stepmom on a regular basis in Fort Lauderdale. Every year, or few years I have visited Florida from the UK and always caught up with Mark for drinks and dinner.

My dad died 8 years ago very suddenly whilst I was in visiting him in Fort Lauderdale. Mark was so supportive, attended the viewing of the body to support us all with his presence and gave such a genuine, heartfelt and warm speech at dads funeral, for which I will be eternally grateful.

Mark loved his friends and his family so much and was always talking about his sister and her children. He was so much fun and was probably the most friendly and open person I know. I can't believe that he has gone and I don't think Florida will ever feel the same to me, without his constant presence.

I remember his visits to Paris and England, his love of his Camero, his loyalty to Met Life, his cat (I forgot her name!), his trips to Costa Rica, his love for Skyy vodka with an olive, his walk on part in Scarface, his charity work, his bike riding and dive/boat trips with friends, dancing and his love of rock music - he really was Mr Florida personified.

Ive added some photos I had on my phone. The most recent was a year ago, when we met up in Las Olas and was the first time he had seen my daughter in about 9 years( see photo 1). Im sure I have some more in old photograph albums that I can find.

I hadn't chatted with Mark since March and therefore, just found out the news today as we had also googled and found this news. Im very happy for any of Marks family or friends to contact me at [email protected] if they would like and we send them all our condolences.

We're all so very upset and sorry we couldn't show our respects at his funeral. We all hope he rests in peace and is still 'rocking out' up in heaven. Love and miss you Mark xxx

This is sad news. Mark and I met mid 1990's and kept in touch over the years. We had a long call early this year to catch up; we were going to meet up for a concert in Los Angeles.

When I didn't get a reply to text messages, I found this. I am so sorry. I have informed mutual friends in Paris.

We all send our condolences to Mark's family.

Wow, this is sad news. Mark has been a volunteer with us as long as I can remember. Always so pleasant and willing to do whatever was needed. He was so community minded and loved all the events. He will be missed by Winterfest. My sincerest sympathy to the family. He was one of the good ones. Rest in Paradise Mark. Much respect.

I met Mark in June 2001 and I have been friends with him ever since. He was truly a rock star, but he was the most down to earth person you could ever meet. He always made me feel special and he was always concerned about what was going on in my life. I frequently saw him at Dolphin games. I am deeply sorry.

I met mark at the hard rock casino I’m 2006. We remain friends ever since .Alway smiling.alway giving. alway helping those in need. Just someone you wanted to be around. Unforgettable. RIP my dear friend.

Mark Alderman, just a great guy. MA as he called himself. Full of life, the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. Called me “"The Chazzer" or “Chazzz” with a special inflection at the end. Mark had a special way with people, like you'd known him for years, even though you just met him. I met Mark in the 90s, we kept in touch all these years, out of the blue I'd get a call... Chazzz, MA here. He'd share stories of his encounters with so many of celebrities, he knew it was cool, but was never star struck, like he was on the same level as anyone.....and he was. We'd be out at a restaurant or somewhere, seemed like he'd always run into a friend. Only one MA, man I'll miss you buddy.
