Mark Landau's Obituary
Mark Landau, of Boca Raton passed away Tuesday November 7, 2017. Born in the former Soviet Union, his family moved to Poland before settling in Israel. Mark served in the tank division of the Israeli Army and attained his engineering degree from Technion – the Israel Institute of Technology. Mark developed a very deep love of Israel and his work as an engineer. In 1965 Mark came to the U.S. where he met his wife Ella. He worked as an industrial engineer, travelling the world. Always a hard worker, when the economy had a downturn in early 1980’s, Mark left engineering to enter a new career as a restaurateur, purchasing and operating the Pastrami King restaurant in Kew Gardens in Queens, NY as well as other eateries. After selling his restaurants Mark moved to Florida in 1994 where he again returned to engineering and contracting and was responsible for many projects, where he could sometimes be found up on a roof or atop a piece of heavy machinery.
Mark was the proud and devoted patriarch of his family, his beloved wife of 50 years, Ella; his loving sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Ronny and Sharon Landau and Dr. Danny and Vicky Landau; and his cherished grandchildren Alec, Emme, Shane, and Audra.
