Marvin Cooper's Obituary
Marvin Cooper, passed peacefully on August. 29, 2024, in Wellington, Florida at the age of 94. Born in The Bronx, NY on October 27, 1929, to Irving and Rachel (Kaplan) Cooper, Marvin is survived by his nephews, the four sons of his late sister Dolores “Deb” Behrens: Steve (Renate), Mitch (Hope), Bruce (Hanna), Ken, and his great nephews & nieces: Justin, Samantha, Aaron and Eve.
“Marvelous Marv,” as he was affectionately known, worked for the New York City Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. He loved sports, and grew up playing stickball in the street, listening to Yankee games on the radio, and watching them play at the original Yankee Stadium, on his way to becoming a diehard fan for life. He was also a huge fan of Sinatra and the Opera, and enjoyed singing, telling jokes, entertaining family and friends, and loved to see everyone around him laughing and having a good time.
Marv’s legendary simile, special sense of humor, knack for belting out Sinatra or a one-liner at any given moment, and just being there to lend a hand or a smile, will be greatly missed and always remembered by everyone who knew him.
The Chapel service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 1 pm at Beth Israel in Boynton Beach with a burial to follow at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens.
