Marvin was my father's best lifelong friend. I believe he loved him as much as he loved his own family. He never tired of telling us stories that starred Marvin and their Flatbush buddies. After they all retired and moved from Brooklyn to Florida, and eventually got old, Mel and Marvin would joke that each would miss the other when they were gone. Marvin was there for my father in his decline in 2020, and I have no doubt he missed him for 5 years. Marvin was an epic figure with strong opinions who took on the care of his large family; rather different than his friend, my father, a more modest, sweet and gentle man. I hope they are together now, fishing on Marvin's boat.
