Michael Preville's Obituary
Michael Preville, 50, passed away on November 30, 2024, in Boca Raton, Florida. Michael was a devoted husband to Jennifer (Singerle) Preville and a loving father to Jake Morris Preville and Emily Grace Preville. He is also survived by his father, Jerold Dreskin. He was preceded in death by his mother, Arlyn Dreskin, and his grandparents Morris and Ida Millman.
Born on November 15, 1974, in Long Branch, New Jersey, Michael's life was marked by dedication—to his family, his profession, and his passions. He graduated from Ocean Township High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Business & Economics at the University of Delaware. It was there that he met his beloved wife, Jennifer, and formed lifelong friendships through his fraternity, Alpha Epsilon Pi.
Michael’s academic journey continued at Pace University, where he earned a Master of Science in Accounting from the Lubin School of Business and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma in recognition of his outstanding scholastic achievement. Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Michael became a Certified Public Accountant—a milestone he achieved with great pride by passing all four parts of the CPA exam on his first attempt.
He began his CPA career at Leipziger and Breskin in New York City. He then joined Weinstein Zugman in Florida where he spent the last two decades and rose to the position of Partner. His professional expertise spanned audit work for employee benefit plans and nonpublic companies as well as tax services for high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, partnerships, and trusts. He was an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Michael was a man who embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. He loved biking, golf, sitting poolside and spending time in the sun, and was deeply committed to fitness—winning Looking Fit in college and maintaining a near-daily workout routine throughout his life. One of his most distinctive passions was sneakers and he built quite an extensive collection over the years that reflected both his style and personality. He had the best sense of humor and loved vacationing in the Keys with his family, exploring different beaches throughout Florida.
A chapel service was held on December 4, 2024, at Beth Israel Chapel, followed by entombment at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach, FL.
Michael’s legacy lives on through those who knew him—as a dedicated professional, a loyal friend, and most importantly as a cherished family man who loved his children and family more than anything else. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
