Mildred Lily Freshwater's Obituary
Born to Sadie and Louis Schoen and raised in Bronx, NY with her brother Emery. Mildred battled challenges with dignity and grace. As a teenager she contracted polio, survived, and went on to get her degree from Hunter College. She taught Kindergarten and 1st grade for 20 years.
She and husband Jack spent summers in Monticello, NY along with their companion chihuahua Maidee. Mildred lived for many years in Delray Beach, FL and established many enduring friendships. Following a stroke nearly 10 years ago, she resided at the Miami Jewish Nursing Home. She was loved and will always be remembered as a caring, generous, and warm-hearted soul.
She was a beloved wife, mother to Michael, grandmother to David Freshwater, and aunt to Alan Schoen whom she helped raise from infancy to early childhood.

Melodye Stokes (Daughter in law) and Larry Gettis
David Freshwater and companion Alejandra
Caroline (great niece) and husband Shady Saliba along with great great niece and nephew Sophia & Noah and Francine Schoen
William Schoen (great nephew) and wife Michelle Comeau along with great great nephews Daniel & Benjamin and niece Laurel
George and Joanne Schoen, Tom and Julie Schoen, and Erica and David Gubkin along with their respective children and grandchildren. Also, of blessed memory Zoltan and Clara Schoen
Mildred will live on in our hearts and minds forever. She will be missed.
Her burial Service is on Monday, October 3, 2022 at the Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach, FL.
