Milton Mintzer's Obituary
Milt Mintzer, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on May 29, following a brief illness. Born and raised in the Bronx, he remained a lifelong New Yorker no matter where he lived and he would want you to know that the secret to the bagels is the water. He attended Queens College and served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957.
Milt resided in Boynton Beach, FL for the past 20 years and was active in the Venetian Isles Jewish Heritage Club as well as the Italian American Club (while he was not Italian, he had a passion for both the food and the country). He was a lifetime member of the Pap Corps for Cancer Research and gave to numerous charitable causes.
Milt was an avid reader and news junkie who seemed to know something about everything. He was a global traveler who loved to see new places and delighted in planning his next trip. He was adored by all who knew him and kept his one-of-a-kind sense of humor until the end.
Milt is survived by his lifelong love and wife of 64 years, Edith, as well as his daughters Meryl (Tim Pullen), Shari, Jodi (Scott Gangloff), and Erica. He was a beloved Pop-Pop to 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Arthur (Charlotte Mintzer) as well as many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Milt's honor to the Pap Corps Champions for Cancer Research or the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Friday June 2, 2023 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33437, beginning at 11:00 AM, entombment to follow at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, Boynton Beach, FL.
